The introduction of the International Maritime Organisation 1983 Amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974, eliminates the use of open lifeboats on new shipbuilding, but there will be a replacement requirement for existing ships for some years to come. Watercraft Hellas have therefore retained the moulds of their open lifeboats for this purpose and can supply to very short delivery requirements.
The company has completed succesfully various Government contracts of commercial crafts i.e. 45ft Pilot boats for Piraeus Port Authorities, 36ft LCVP Launching - crafts for the Greek Navy, 27ft. Patrol - Boats for the Greek Coast Guard, 31ft. Survey launches for the Hellenic Hydrographic Service, special rescue crafts for training pilots in Sea Rescue for the Greek Air Force, launches for the Santorini Island Port.

Rescue Boats

Our rescue boats are specifically built to fullfil a rescue function and have been approved in accordance to SOLAS 1974 revised 1998 LSA code MSC 48/66 requirement for rescue boats. They are made of GRP, have a selfrighting system and supplied with outboard engine. They combine an excelent stability with easy handling and maneuverability.

Fast Rescue Boats
Watercraft Fast Rescue Boats are designed and built for use in rough water and to provide high speeds. The crafts have been approved in accordance to SOLAS Regulations. They are self-draining, have a self-righting system and suppplied with outboard or inboard engine with waterjet.

Davits

Davits (Launching Appliance Systems), are succesfully manufactured by Watercraft since 1978.

 

The company has supplied various shipping companies and shipyards with all types of Davits. Most af the products are SOLAS approved and comply witrh Marine Equipment Directive 96/98

 

Moreover,  special Davits have been manufactured for the needs of the Greek Navy, Governmental training Schools etc.

 

In addition, Watercraft is operating as a subcontractor manufacturer for free fall davit systems of variours european manufacturers.

 

Finally, Watercraft represents major companies for the supply of Rescue Boat, Fast Rescue Boat and Liferaft Davits.
