Although the introduction of the International Maritime Organisation 1983 Amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974 eliminated the use of open lifeboats on new shipbuilding, there is a replacement requirement for existing ships. Watercraft Hellas has retained the moulds of their open lifeboats for this purpose and can supply to very short delivery requirements.
